Law and Politics Course

Law and Politics Course

Increasingly, legal knowledge is required to confront complex problems that arise in today's society. The Law and Politics Course seeks to equip students with enough legal knowledge to take an active role solving issues in the fields of law and politics. We also prepare students to contribute to their regional society through their knowledge of administration, politics, planning, and policy-making.

The Law and Politics Course is divided into two programs: the Governance Systems Program, and the Civil and Criminal Law Program.

The Governance Systems Program deals with issues of law and governance such as Constitutional Law, Principles of Politics, Local Politics and International Law.

Students who successfully complete this program will be well prepared to take positions as national and local public officials, or staff members in various non-profit organizations such as NGOs and NPOs. The program also provides a sound foundation for students who wish to go on to more advanced studies at institutions such as the School of Public Policy.

The Civil and Criminal Law Program addresses issues which arise in daily life such as Civil Law, Commercial Law, and Criminal Law. It also examines basic principles of law, through subjects such as Philosophy of Law or History of Legal Thought. Students can also take special lectures on increasingly important subjects like Intellectual Property Law and Labor Law.

Students who successfully complete this Program will be well prepared to take positions as notary publics (judicial scriveners), real estate transaction agents, or office workers who deal closely in legal matters.
